Frequently asked questions
Do you provide interpreters nationwide?
Yes. Remote (VRI) interpreting is available anywhere in the United States. In-person interpreting is scheduled in local markets where we have qualified interpreters, matched to your event by state licensure and availability.
What credentials do your interpreters hold?
Interpreters in the Kindred network hold nationally recognized credentials such as the NIC, BEI, and EIPA, and are matched to assignments based on setting, skill, and state licensure requirements.
What is the difference between in-person and VRI interpreting?
In-person interpreting places a qualified interpreter on-site with you. VRI (Video Remote Interpreting) delivers a credentialed interpreter over secure video, which makes access possible immediately and anywhere, including short-notice and remote settings.
Do you interpret for DeafBlind individuals?
Yes. DeafBlind interpreting is a core service, informed by our founder’s ongoing involvement in the DeafBlind community. Note your needs on the service request and we will match an interpreter with the right training.
How are interpreters matched to my request?
Interpreters are matched based on state licensure, credentials, setting, and availability. Tell us the type of service, location or remote preference, and dates, and we will follow up by email.
